Parkourist
« on: July 10, 2011, 09:18:11 PM »
Parkourist = Traceur
i think it would be a good idea to just adopt the term parkourist, instead of correcting everyone and telling them it's a traceur
I'm not saying kill the traceur term, but let the term Parkourist Co-Exist with the term Traceur
I like Tricking and Free Running, i don't think i actually do parkour, because i do it for fun and self expression, which would change the term to free running.

Idk... everyone seems to get it. I've found most people like the word traceur. I think it's one of the coolest words, especially when said with an english accent...

Let's also start using Tennisist and chessist while we're at it, I'm sure it will catch on :)

In some latin countries they do use "parkourista". However for English (and French) speaking countries, traceur is the correct term :)

Of course you can call it whatever you want, language is often changed based on usage.

Personally as long as "parkouring" doesn't catch on I could care less :P

I had a 20 minute discussion with my friend about proper vocabulary and use of the word parkour... please, don't let that go to waste anymore than it already was

I usually just stick with practitioner when talking to civilians. "Parkour" is enough for them to remember once we finish chatting...
