MIPK/Ann Arbor National Jam - September 16-18 2011
« on: June 15, 2011, 06:47:30 PM »
The 5th Annual Michigan National Jam

The University of Michigan parkour club a.k.a. Michigan Parkour

The dates are September 16-18 2011 and the jam will be on the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus.

Schedule

The jam is on Friday afternoon to evening, all day Saturday, and Sunday until evening. Come to all of the days or any of the days you can make.

On Saturday, we'll have a session for first-timers and beginners, so even if you don't know anything about parkour, come to the jam anyway. This can be the time you can learn more about parkour and meet others who are also interested in parkour.

Friday 16th

4:00pm Meet at the Cube
-7:00pm Jam
After the jam, we'll figure out who stays where.

Saturday 17th

10:00am Meet at the Diag
-11:00am Warm-up
-3:00pm Jam
3:00pm Lunch break
4:00pm Meet back at the Diag
-7:00pm Jam
7:00pm- BBQ

Sunday 18th

10:00am Meet at the Diag
-11:00am Warm-up
-3:00pm Jam

There is no fee. You're free to come to any and all parts of the jam.

However, you'll still need money to buy yourself food during the jam. We'll have a BBQ on Saturday evening, but other meals are on you.

We'll provide housing for free for everyone who needs it. Basically you'll be staying at someone's apartment or co-op housing.
If you have any special needs concerning housing, then let us know as early as possible, so we can help you.
Also, for people living near Ann Arbor or flying into Detroit Metro Airport, we can give you a ride. Let us know early, so we can make a plan to give everyone a ride.

I will be there.  Where do I stay?  Possibly/probably with another coach from the gym I teach at.  Hella stoked.  First time to visit Michigan and my first jam in the MidWest.

Don't worry too much about that yet, we'll be handling that during the jam, but if you're getting here early, get in contact with Jimmy Lee. We'll be handling housing as it gets closer to september

I'd like to attend but I haven't a way of getting there. Is anyone able to pick me up from Eaton Rapids and drop me off also?

I hope you guys liked the blog/article.  I never know if anyone even reads them, and I always worry that I didn't get it right...

Speaking of getting it right, I was truly stoked on this jam.  It was an amazing time and I'll definitely go back the next time I can afford it!
