Your body will adapt if you do the same exercises, especially if you are doing the same sets of the same amount of reps week after week. If this is some idea to try and get us into better shape, it won't work so well, as nothing is going to be gained form doing the same thing. How about 1 week you do 10 pushups every post, the next week pullups, the next week do 20 crunches every post, next week 20 squats, next week 15 DB curls, etc. You get the point. Mix it up a bit, make it challenging, that's what will get you to your fitness goals.

You have a good point, mixing it up after a while is a good idea.
But also to bring out, this would be true if this was the only exercise you were doing and you can already do them perfectly well. However if you cant do many or full push ups (no knees) then this will help you as well. If you can do 10 push ups no problem without feeling anything, then it won't help you so much, so you would need to increase the amount, or up the intensity weather it be more reps, weights, or your back, inclined, and the many other ways. I need to improve training my pull ups, so i add pull ups to my routine.

Once its to easy, bring the intensity. It would be like someone who can barley press 20lb. If they keep trying it on a regular basis is will become easier, but once its to easy, feel no struggle, they would want to increase the weight on the bar to keep increasing their strength.

But, its also fun to punish yourself with workouts :P

This is a punishment supplement to workouts.
Day 1 I did 150 push-ups between our push-up games. My general workout for the day was 3x5 clean jerk, 3x5 dead lift and 17,11,7 bench press.
Day 2 I did 70 push-ups between our push-up games. My general workout was 4x5 "the bears" and 3x5 weighted pull-ups.

If this is your only work out then yes you should change it up weekly but if you are working out on a regular basis this is a fun game to supplement.

It did hinder my bench workout but I'm sore and it feels great.

I would say that this is less of a workout for our bodies and more for our minds. If we consistently do our PU's after a post, we're consciously thinking about the post. How often do we train compared to how much we post on here and other networks?

Also, I'm terrible at pushups, I have trouble doing 5 in a row with no knees (hence the "No knees" in sig, both for myself and other weaklings)

But I can do my rounds of the forums and do 10 for every post, by that time I'll be proficient enough to try one-leg or one-arm pushups.

Indeed. Maybe this is the Admin's long sought after solution to the new Stop the BullSh*t campaign.

I'm gonna start counting my posts and start doing this.
This sounds like fun and a good way to keep myself in a conditioning set of mind.

This is a FANTASTIC idea!!!
Will start immediately!

P.S. Was watching Tosh.0 and he presented the idea of Piss-Ups!
In other words, every time you take a piss, do 10 push-ups!!!

I'm doing 10 for this post and 10 for my next piss. ;D

Who thinks this is a good idea? ???

Yeah that's the whole point. It's a great idea to help people get of their butts and start training. Also to keep you active while not training.  ;)
