BIKE the US for MS
« on: March 08, 2011, 06:26:08 AM »
I have a very ambitious goal. It can be reached if everybody pitches in to help!

What is my goal?
My goal is to raise $3,875 for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research. In short, MS is a disease of the Central Nervous System which can have symptoms ranging from numbness in the limbs all the way to paralysis or loss of vision. MS effects over 400,000 people in the US.

Is this related to parkour?
Yes, MS is a disease which effects a person's mobility. MS victims do not have enough motor control to practice parkour and may even be unable to walk.

What happens if I reach the goal?
If the goal is reached before June, I will ride my bicycle 3,875 miles from Yorktown, VA, to Sanfransisco, CA. The ride will start June 1st and continue through all of June and July, but I must reach my goal before June!

How can you help?
1. Directly contribute to my goal here:

Any amount helps!
2. Spread the word. Tell a few people about the goal, the ride, and most importantly, the cause. Maybe someone you know would like to donate or an employer can match your donation.
Join and invite people on facebook:

If you want to help or have any questions about the ride or donating, feel free to respond to this thread or email me at cwachtman@gmail.com

I applaud you for doing this. Seriously. :) I'll be watching the blog.

Posting to follow.

One of my close friends has MS, and holds a fund raiser every year.

I appreciate what you're doing, and hope I can donate, even if a little to such a great cause.
