If you are interested in applying to be a Forum Ambassador, fill out the form below in a private message to me. I will contact you if you have been selected. If you have any questions, you can post in this thread and I'll answer you. :)

Of course you don't!

We expect all participating members of APK to be welcoming! The Ambassador Program is just an opportunity to organize things a little more and provide a more consistent and reliable response to newcomers.

Lol, I realized I have to be a little more mature, and slightly less cocky/egotistical... but, thats a sacrifice I'll make.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank Andy for coming up with this idea and executing it, and to thank everyone who has volunteered. This community is made of people, it is that simple, the more helpful we each are, the better the forum is, and I'm very proud of this forum, the people who comprise it, and the way it is maintained by everyone. With the release of Jump City we'll no doubt have a flood of newly inspired traceurs and freerunners, so being ready to point them in the right direction is crucial!

Thanks!
M2

Micah and Mumu... No getting off-topic... Just saying.

I think this idea is awesome Andy. I'm sure I speak for those who applied and the rest of the people who use this forum; We care about APK, Parkour and where both of those are headed in America right now. Even if it's just a small part of that picture, we're glad to have the opportunity to help out in any way we can. It's become a part of who we are, we each have something that draws us to do Parkour and we identify with our fellow Traceurs, regardless of all our other differences. This is a close-knit community, I know that I've never gone out of my way to meet with people from other forums I'm a part of, but with this one community I've driven to Columbus several times, I've driven to the other side of PA and now I might be flying to Texas in a few weeks. Why? ((Aside from meeting new people, having fun and training, of course.)) I know that every trip like this, every day I train, every time I drill a technique or lift a weight, I'm learning. All these experiences are teaching me, and right now I want to keep my mouth shut and learn. So that if one day I'm blessed enough to be in the position to speak, I will speak words created from experience and thought, words that build up the community and strengthen the ideals of Parkour. I know that I haven't done the best job of that all the time, but hey, I'm still learning. ;)

I just realized how long and off-topic this post has gotten, so I'm gonna close here...

Awesome idea Andy! Thanks M2!

A title and a few perks mean nothing.  All it takes is a little time and effort to say what you need to, to help someone new out, to make the forums a nice and welcoming place, to extend a helping hand, to teach others what you know...

I like the idea Andy, but overall I think this should be unnecessary.  It will probably be helpful with the influx of new practicioners as M2 said, but still; I think it'd be even cooler if everyone on the forums agreed to help out wherever they could (as if most of them dont already).  But of course I'm a carebear dreaming of a brighter future. If anyone wants me, the PM button is under my name, and feel free to use it to ask for my cell number.  But seriously, keep the rewards to yourself.  You shouldn't be rewarded for what you should be doing anyways.
