what are a few ways and or exersices i can do to help avoid shin splints

I had them all the time from running cross country in college. 

Strengthening the calves is the only way to do it.  There are endless calf exercise online.  Also my Physical therapist told me to stengthen the hamstrings.  But the calves really made a difference for me.

But remember when it hurts, rest is basically the only recover form. 
I have been writing Printable Algebra Worksheets for extramoney lately. Times are hard.
