Cosplay + Parkour
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:47:31 PM »
How come no one has any vids of them cosplaying while doing parkour? Wouldn't it be epic to see some one cosplaying as Ezio/Altair, or some one from Naruto/dressed like a ninja while doing parkour/freerunning? When I finally finish my pokemon ranger cosplay im going to do parkour in it xD

I've seen it. Mostly with characters from Naruto though.

I'd like to point out too why you don't see it often, this is because the cosplayers work hard and many hours/days/months on their cosplays. They want to keep them in the best shape possible. I wouldn't want to roll or put strain on a cosplay I took months to put together and create. I wouldn't want to dirty it or potentially ruin it.

In all seriousness, most of the characters that are used by cosplayers were made to be flashy with plenty of accessories. Parkour benefits from minimalization.

Shirt, Cargos or sweats, light shoes. That's all you need.

It's fine to dress as your favorite bug-eyed protagonist, but it's hardly parkour if you have to stop to pick up what you dropped all the time.

I did at a renfest. Had a blast. No pics of the action, but heres the coustume (ezio) I only had 3 days to make it though so its not as good as i wanted it to be, but im making one for next year and its going to be 20x better, cause well i have more than 3 days to make it.

Pic of costume:

and here is the concept of what i am makeing currently. Im also trying to make it were its not so heavy and easier to move.

And for warrior dash thats coming to LA in march, im makeing me and my friends a modern assassins outfit. (white t-shirt with hood, logo on back and vambraces) no pics yet.

Yep, i cant wait. Been training some of the obstacles, like the hay bail climb at my friends field, and jumping over cars for the junk yard dash.

I did, sorta. Just take a look at my avatar. Which is why Mirror's Edge is awesome (also, fairly easy to put together). I've got makeup pencil tattoos on too, but those are hidden from the camera ( :( especially seeing that this is the only photo I have of the costume). Parkour worked really well in it too, which I guess is kinda the point.
