-ADD or ADHD - usually untreated. I think I have ADD or ADHD.
-Random as hell humor. Not really.
-very intelligent, but the grades don't/didn't show it. generally lack of interest in school. My grades are pretty good
-good at sports but dislike the rules (might not do school sports purely because of the rulebook for them)
and a bunch of stuff like that. Played basketball before but I like parkour a lot more cause i love to move around.

Thanks for the input on ym random observation, guys.

Of course I wasn't saying EVERY traceur has these, just really common more than with anything else it seems.

I'd love more things people notice we all have in common, and does anyone have a thought on using observations like these to find training partners?

So...

You're suggesting a mechanic similar to a dating site for training partners?

Pretty awesome bruv.

We're all a bunch of nerds who happen to be athletic or at least adventurous enough to try activities that sound cool. It's cause we all got into parkour because we found it on the internet.

I actually discovered it for the first time on Riply's believe it or not. They had the Yamakasi on an episode.

Edit: Here is the actual spot.

Any ways- Most of those have nothing to do with me. I don't have ADHD or ADD, I always had good grades, my humor is situational and I played tennis and nothing else becasue I didn't like the other sports. Not for rules though but because they just weren't fun.

But from the looks of it you seem to be fairly accurate with your observations.

I have ADD not ADHD like most here seem to have...
Random humor... uhm, I'm not sure what that means. Randomly make jokes? Or find random things funny?
School, I used to have horrid grades. Then I got meds for ADD and got great grades. Now I can control it better and don't need Meds. Still make good grades.
Sports... Never really had the chance officialy. When we played for fun though I DESPISED it when ppls broke the rules...
Racing Games? No... Least fav kind of game. Unless its like insanely fast and dangerous or there is weapons/obsticals/enemies.

It may be interesting to note that I have had strong feelings about fear. Wether hating that I was afraid, or wishing to conquer it or uh... feeding off of it, if that is understandable. Perhaps that is a common ground as well?

Everyone I've met who does parkour has done some serious gaming. Before I started training parkour I had 25 days on cod. Now, I sold cod, and my xbox is gathering dust.

ADD or ADHD - Nope
Random as hell humor - Sometimes
Grades - I get good grades, but i'm just there so I can get a higher paying job in the future.
good at sports but dislike the rules - Exactly lol

Pretty much everybody has done some form of gaming. I can't think of a single person at my school who hasn't atleast picked up a Xbox or Playstation controller before.

Most cases of of ADD/ADHD are misdiagnosed. Just wanted to point this out.

It's become sort of the, "My kid needs some sort of excuse"-syndrome.

Well thats pretty close for me as well. Though I too got good grades despite untreated ADD. I think its more true to say people with those characteristics are overrepresented in the parkour community then all traceurs show those features.

ADD or general hyperactivity is on obvious corelate with interest in parkour because people with those attributes tend to be more play focused less likely to obey rules forbiding behaviors like running, climbing up stuff and jumping off of it.

Intelligence correlates because parkour is an activity that has to be found for most people this was more true in the early days the first finders of Parkour were generally pretty hardcore computer geeks because they were more aware of growth of viral video aspect of parkour.

ADD would seem to correlate with a lack of interest in highly structured sports.

I shall not fear, fear is the mind killer the little death that precedes total obliteration

I will face my fear, I will let it pass over and through me and were it is gone, I will turn the inner eye and see its path, and only I will remain.

Doesn't really sound like me.

-ADD or ADHD - Nope, I have no attention disorders.
-Random as hell humor - That's spot on.
-very intelligent, but the grades don't/didn't show it. generally lack of interest in school - I'll say yes to intelligence at the risk of sounding like a dickhead, but my always have and still do show good results. I'm averagely interested in school, certain topics.
-good at sports but dislike the rules - Sort of. I've done a lot of sports, but the only one I wasn't interested in because of rules was basketball.

Gaming seems to be something that comes up a lot in parkour communities, a definite yes to that from me. The common factor that all of the tracers I know/have met seems to be an overabundance of energy. Lack of patience, twitchiness, desire to continually move locations/positions etc.
