I need some help figuring some things out :)

Hi, im brand new to parkour and i actually just tried rolling for the first time ( parkour wise) and i put my elbow in side of my knee and held on to my foot, but i wasnt able to keep ahold of it the whole roll. Any suggestions for that? And i have watched turtorials but i kinda need descriptions because i cant  figure out whats what in the videos. Im trying to have a friend help me, but he keeps leaving and doing it while "teaching" so, any advice?

The whole grabbing the foot thing isn't really essential to the roll; as it's something just to teach you what the general shape of your arm and back should be. Try watching Adam McC's tutorial for in depth roll analysis.

The main thing about the roll is that you roll over your shoulder so you displace all the pressure all over your body

If you roll on your right shoulder, you should tuck your head under your left armpit (or vise versa), so as to not let it touch the ground at any point during a roll.

PRACTICE YOUR ROLL!!!! There is nothing more important, just go on and keep trying until there is no pain at all. Then try it on a harder surface.
Just try to follow in my footsteps.....I run up walls :D

i roll shoulder to opposite hip...learned it in martial arts, its to reduce the time and area that your spine has to touch the ground....rocks dont feel good in the spine. :D
