Rock running waimea bay
« on: May 09, 2010, 12:51:25 AM »

Today Ct, Ryan and I did some  rock running around a  65meter long coral head.

Rock running is pretty simple, You hold your breath, swim to the bottom, grab a heavy ass rock and run.  It works out your anaerobic  muscles in your legs, and also your helps with your breath hold abilities.

How deep in where you guys swimming down?

About 12 ft deep at the deepest. and around 8 on the shallow end.  Britt and I played around on with it today and ended up around 25ft on the deepest.

Facing "jump rock"  go to the left side, Has an assortment of rock sizes for you to choose from.

Well there was a change of plans. We are instead going to Alas beach park. Instead of Waimea bay >< hopefully we can still do some rock running there lol.
If your still interested despite the change in location, its going to be This saturday the 15th at around 11ish-whenver...ish.

Im assuming you mean Ala moana,  The lagoon  inside of magic island "might" be due able, but its way shallow ( enough where your head might stick out)  and rocks will be hard to come by.   Outside the  rock walls its all reef, and out of respect for the ocean its best not to run on a living creature.   Inside " alligators hole" where all the Tri teams and SUP's practice is way to muddy to run.

Also on a side not surf is suppose to be 3-5 faces on the south shore
