Rabbits and snakes!!!
« on: July 25, 2006, 07:37:04 AM »
Although most of you might find this sick, its true.
Rabbits and Snakes are high in protein and have extremely little or no fat.
This is because rabbits and snakes are lean, and have a high metabolic rate.
So the next time you see those rabbits in the petstore, try to refrain from eating them.

Here in Louisiana, not many folks would think of eating rabbit or snake as sick.  But we prefer crawfish.  They aren't nearly as healthy to eat, though.

I'm not sure about snake, but if you don't eat anything besides rabbit for a few weeks you get protein posioning, where the body has too much protein and practically no fat. Rabbit is awesome though, but it's too expensive to buy butchered already. Live rabbits come at like 5 bucks over here. They're something like 8 bucks a pound butchered.

Kiba ... you beat me to the random known fact.  DANG YOU.  ITs true...if you are ever dying in the woods...you have to eat more then just rabbit or snake...not enough fat AND you will know...as soon as you start getting the hershy squirts and then...you die from it.

Yeah, only reason I know that is 'cause I usually study survival stuff in my spare time. :P I've always loved nature so I figured it might come in handy if I ever get stuck hiking or something.

How dare you live in Louisiana and not know how to spell crayfish (your spelling is the way it's pronounced, but not spelled).

Never had snake.  I've had lizard.  Never had rabbit.  I've had goat.
