Parkour Generations and the Yamakasi in Your Backyard
« on: April 07, 2010, 03:30:15 PM »
For those that haven't seen this yet:

The world’s leading practitioners of parkour will come from Europe to Columbus, Ohio over Memorial Day weekend to lead a three day seminar. The London based Parkour Generations and the Paris group Majestic Force, which includes some of the renowned Yamakasi — the founders of parkour — are the featured attractions of a collaborative event hosted by Parkour Horizons of Columbus. “American Rendezvous” will mark the first time the Yamakasi founders have taught in the United States and will also be the first time since 2008 that Parkour Generations has taught stateside.

The first day of training, Friday (May 28), will be held in Hocking Hills State Park, with Saturday and Sunday (May 29 and 30) taking place at Battelle Riverfront Park in downtown Columbus. Parkour Generations held training sessions at these venues during the 2008 Memorial Day Exposition with great success and look forward to revisiting the training locations.

Opportunities to be trained by Parkour Generations and the Yamakasi founders are few and far between outside of Europe, so be sure to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity!

I hope to see you all there! People travel from around the world to train with these guys in London, and now THEY'RE COMING TO OHIO! We have tons of people from all over North America coming to this... Ohioans have no excuse to not go!  ;)

Reservation should be open for about another month+, so save up some money and be sure not to miss out on this!

I'm looking for a group going there I can join and hitch a ride with. Anyone willing to take along another body? I'll help pay for gas.

Why did it have to be that weekend? I'll be on my honeymoon at that time. Grr.

You're complaining... Why? Hahaha. Just kidding.

I'm attempting to work things out so I can be there the whole weekend... Hopefully I'll have an answer before May.

Man, you can't imagine how bad I want to go.  I went the first time they were here and I was a noob.  Hopefully this becomes an annual thing since I'll be attending OSU next year.

I didn't expect to be here, was kind of a last minute replacement for another person who had reservations and had to cancel; didn't want his money to go to waste. Anyway, I'm having a great time.
