The world’s leading practitioners of parkour will come from Europe to Columbus, Ohio over Memorial Day weekend to lead a three day seminar. The London based Parkour Generations and the Paris group Majestic Force, which includes some of the renowned Yamakasi — the founders of parkour — are the featured attractions of a collaborative event hosted by Parkour Horizons of Columbus. “American Rendezvous” will mark the first time the Yamakasi founders have taught in the United States and will also be the first time since 2008 that Parkour Generations has taught stateside.

The first day of training, Friday (May 28), will be held in Hocking Hills State Park, with Saturday and Sunday (May 29 and 30) taking place at Battelle Riverfront Park in downtown Columbus. Parkour Generations held training sessions at these venues during the 2008 Memorial Day Exposition with great success and look forward to revisiting the training locations.

Opportunities to train with Parkour Generations and the Yamakasi founders are few and far between outside of Europe, so be sure to take advantage of this invaluable opportunity!

This is a non-profit event. All ticket proceeds will go directly toward paying for the operational costs (park permits, airfare & lodging for our guests from Europe). Any profits after that will go to pay for a cookout for the attendees :)

It's quite likely LVPK is gonna make a trip over here. This sounds awesome.

Adam, I'm definitely going. But if there's a chance all of you are too, what are your means of transportation?

Just so you guys know, all proceeds are going towards covering operational costs for the event. Any remaining funds will pay for a cookout during the event.

We are not looking for profit, just trying to put on an awesome event for everyone.  :)

We'd be taking a road trip. It'd be about a 7 hour drive from Allentown.

I will be there. Wisconsin Parkour will hopefully be represented by more than just me. :) Looking forward to it!

As much as we wish that we could afford to do this entirely out of our own pockets, we cannot. This will have to be a community effort folks. It should be well worth it though :)

Alright bro. Andy Keller and I still have to decide if we're going to commit to going. I'll mentally put you on the list, though. If we go, we'd probably be able to take a maximum of 10 people with us. So you're on the list, if that's the case. Would you make your way to the Lehigh Valley and then join our car ride?

Possibly another Road Trip for the Explorer filled with WIpk crew.  Perhaps we may even think about renting something nicer HA! Great to have this event happening and we're glad the Parkour Horizons is on top of their game making it happen.

Update:

Julie Angel will be present to document the event, and we also just received confirmation that all three head guys from the Majestic Force will be able to come. That is Yann Hnautra, Chau Belle and Laurent Piemontesi. We will have several (or more) guys from Parkour Generations as well, so this should be a pretty amazing experience. Be sure to keep an eye on the event website for additional details. More info will be continually added as we get it.

The hotel info is just a little confusing. I just want to clarify... One hotel room, which fits 1-4 people, is 47 dollars per night, is that correct?

Yes, that is correct... in other words, $47 / 4 people = $11.75 a night.

That is how we understood the costs when we spoke with the hotel people. Let us know if the costs don't work out like that... but I have no reason to think those costs aren't accurate.

That's how it seemed when [testing out] booking online. It asked for the number of people, but it barely [if at all] affects the cost per night.
