Hmm, well if you have an old matress. Set it up against a wall, and go for it.

lmfao! that was funny but instead of placing the mattress on the wall place it in front where you would land. You might run on it and slow down a bit but you'd still get the understanding of how it's done.

Have two people hold your hands on either side, then try it...its sort of like a double spotter system

I agree with JumpOffMyRoof, definately get a spotter. Also, try and find a gym to practice at.

Peace,

Ball's out my friend, it's way easier than almost all other tricks. I suggest watching a couple Tricking video's to get yourself pumped up before hand.

okay I just read the first page of this thread and this is pretty...terrible advice actually....

On almost any other kinda of flip I would say go for it but no spotter + no gym= broken neck... You can get spooked and end up only tucking half way hitting your neck, I almost did it at the gym but landed kneeling last second (thank you reflects) this was with a spotter too *ahem* psy....

for his sake I started really far away from him but still...

really guys giving advice like this is pretty irresponsible, there are many people that are paralyzed because they "saw it on tv"

I dont care how confident or dedicated you are, if you dont have a proper spotter (i.e. psy doesnt count and neither does adam) and you dont have a gym then you shouldnt try wall flips unless your willing to risk shitting in your pants the rest of your life and never running again.

Dude, the topic was four months ago, he's probably got it figured out by now  :P

But even, so I happen to disagree. Once you work up the gets to actually try, I find that wallflips are easier than most flips. I would much rather do a wallflip unspotted than I backflip unspotted.

Also, I feel that it is a neccesary lesson to hit the dirt a few times. If you're two scared of some bruises, you'le never get anything done.
It may be better to learn in a gym, but not many people have gym's available for them, so practising outside is a good option.

As for the paralyzation part, if you aren't willing to risk injuries you shouldn't be doing parkour in the first place.

*That was not meant to be taken as just go out and randomly try flips either. They can be dangerous, so make sure you read some tutorials, and practise things that lead up to it. If you do try it, my advice is to absolutely COMMIT.

Its a risk you can take but dont you think its better to aviod breaking your neck, I myself would rather a life of movement then 18 years of pk

sorry but its da truth

seriously thats why pk has a bad name, we should encourage mat and gym use and not encourage someone to go out and try a wall flip then possibly break their neck, how do you know he even knows a back flip...remember neil? what if he took that wall flip fall out side?
