Should the WOD replace my set routine?
« on: November 18, 2009, 11:02:32 AM »
So, in reply to the "How often should you do the WOD" thread. Should I do the WOD on top of my routine, or on my rest days. Or replace my routine with WOD all together? Because after my routine I'm wiped. I don't think I could add it on top of my routine with =out cutting out some stuff...

Thoughts? Ideas?
Have you forgotten about the days when we just wanted to rock cause we like it that way?

No.

Your routine should be specific to your goals.

APK is a generalist workout.

Thanks for replying. And ok, i get it.

Do you think I could do WOD on my off days to maintain general fitness? Like just going the extra mile thing?

No, it is better to rest on rest days.

Your body recovers and heals your muscles and such on rest days. You need them.

Good point, how about

Routine Day(Heavy)>Rest Day>APK WOD(Light)>Rest Day>Repeat

Sound good?

If the APK is not specific to your goals then why include it at all?

It's not specific at my goals, but it is geared toward movements that compliment parkour, correct?

So while acheiving my goals I could be working toward overall improvement

Ehh... sorta, IMO the APKWOD is geared toward all around fitness and functional movements like Crossfit.
I eat a lot of food.
