I'm New Here: APK question
« on: November 23, 2009, 03:14:13 PM »
Okay, I'm new to parkour. I don't quite fully understand the APK Warm-Up. based on what I read it goes something like this...
stretch>light workout(jogging)>heavy workout (pullups, e.tc) and then repeat three times? and also I add the WOD? and my last question is if there is a difference between warm-ups and stretching. ???

if we want a point in our lives we have to make it, if we want happiness then we have to do our best to get happy. you can be a mindless drone, or you can go out and do something great. -Texas Steve-/b]

Yes, the warmup is intense and if you aren't strong enough at first it may BE your workout.

The WOD would be on top of that but if the warmup is exhausting just stick with that for now until you become proficient.

Add in stretching to your warmups if you desire. Not static stretching though.

Yes, agility.

It was pretty hard but I managed to do it. what do you mean by static stretching?

It's basically non-dynamic stretching or stretching with prolonged muscle length at the edge of range of motion.

Google for more infos.
