Training Bails?
« on: October 27, 2009, 06:56:36 AM »
Hey guys, I need a favor.

A while ago, I saw someone post a video where they purposely trained their bails and fall recoveries, to lose the fear and gain confidence in the movements. I just did a search for the video but could not find it. Can anyone find it? There's some stuff in that video I would really like to use.

Much appreciated

Great concept. This is definately a way to help those who have kong fear, or any other fear.

The only problem I see with this is that little thing called muscle memory. If bails become practiced unconsciencly, then muscle memory will kick in, which will lead to problems. So if you ever want to drill this idea of training, make sure you're aware of what your doing at all times.

I was about to mention the same thing, Matthew. Would this not re-enforce bad habits? I think it's a brilliant idea but not sure if the sacrifice would be truly worth it.

I am no expert, so it's just me guessing and observing.
