This section is pretty much dead..
« on: October 27, 2009, 02:25:16 PM »
I think this is pretty fricking stupid.
Sure, a great deal of NE's cities aren't all that great. But for most of us, a city is like an hour or 2 away.
Really anything along I-80 is good, like the rest stops have a little bit of stuff, also pretty much every town has a park, and most cities have tons of them and a few big ones.

So why is there a severe lack of PK/FR? I do not know...
Any thoughts?

I was talking about this in another thread, but I'm going to try and get some activity going around the Seward/Lincoln area this coming summer/fall.  I'll be transferring out to NE for college and definitely not leaving parkour behind me.
Parks are great, for sure.

Parkour in NE is not, and never will be dead. As long as I can still run.  ;)

I'm looking to start a bit of a group.
I've trained off and on for about a year (stuff has been going on.).

There is one other person that I know of that enjoys parkour, he just started but shows serious potential.
It's just a matter of finding more, and getting a local gym to let us train there since it's getting wet and cold out.

Wow, you're right, as a topic this section of the forums do seem a tad bit dead. I dunno about running in Nebraska being dead. There are definitely some good areas int he eastern part of NE. I've done some stuff around Omaha, but only a little. If you find yourself in that area you might try contacting Anthony Olivia, he does some running around those parts and Council Bluffs sometimes with a few of his friends. I ran with him a little bit once... it was a long time ago, when I just started out.. haven't really spoken with him since.

I ran in Omaha for like 40 minutes to an hour while my dad was at a meeting. I ended up pretty far away at the 30 minute mark.

But yeah, we should all get together every 1 or 2 months (I know I'm busy as hell)

I could start organizing, if you all are ok with the idea?

Sounds good to me. It's pretty great to meet new people. If you're up to setting it up, I'll prolly show... then again, like you, I'm busy as hell.
