Welcome to the GorillaPK Forum!
« on: October 16, 2009, 11:00:05 PM »
Hey guys! Kyle Rudolph and I are proud to welcome you to the official GorillaPK Forum!

GorillaPK is an international pk group made solely by big guys, for big guys. This group is dedicated to helping bigger guys/girls get started and progress in training. It's time we show the community no matter how big or small you are, we are all the same we just move differently. Our plan is to help get the bigger traceurs/traceuses out of the "closet" especially being on a forum where most of the guy's are washboard like, we are trying to get the bigger traceur's like Kyle and I + many other traceurs to discuss parkour in a way where we all have something bigger in common "no pun intended".

I spoke with Leon most of last night and he made a very valid point. If we did make a website you would have to think of what to post on there. It can't be solely one thing you'd need to have multiple things. Just like the "Freerunner" and "Womens" forums they boomed after a while. We have to start small and eventually over time we will get bigger. Also we will start posting articles which will be featured on Gorillapk/Freerunner so hopefully we can get this going  :D

Well, I'm not big as in height, I'm big as in..well...I weigh 260...and yeah..I feel kinda shamed about that, but I'll try not to on this board. So, what are some tips you guys have on helping me move better?
I am strong; I am fast; I am a traceur; Think you can out run me now? Sure, you use the obvious path, but I will use the fastest.
Obstacle? What obstacle?
21.6 pounds lost! 50 more to go!

Hey,

well first thing to do is get to know your body! Learn your limitations and break them. We can't help you with moving better thats something everyone has to learn by themselves, because it's you who controls your movement. We can support you and thats what we want to do! Train, Train, Train! That will help you see what your boundaries are and the more you train the more you will be able to overcome those obstacles! hope this helps!

so far i think i'm winning the 'whos tallest here' comp. with 6' 4" and a half.....that was a while ago, and with many hot showers after swimming, i may have shrunk! :P

yeah, also slightly overweight, but i'm losing it. i think that all any other big guy out there needs to learn is discipline, without discipline, no matter how motivated you are at the beginning, you're on no road to success if you can't keep your self going.

and hey, running is just loads of fun. ;D

certainly, you've got my support!.

I think this would be absolutely amazing. I myself am 6'1 and about 230-235 lbs. I have been wanting to get into parkour and freerunning for as long as I can remember now. This is an amazing opportunity for me. I've also have a partner I will be training with. My best friend! Thanks for this.

New to PK scene but couldn't ask for a better place to be then the 303... Ya like the idea of this guys it's a different game when you got more body mass to throw around..I'd say as of a week ago I was 6'3 and 207 but i got long a$$ legs that tend to trip me up more then get me where I'm trying to go but it's only a matter of time now.

Heya, I'm 6'2" and 230-240 pounds (it seriously fluctuates by ten pounds throughout the day. The lowest I see it is 228, and the highest I let it go is 240.8)
I have a gym membership, but never know what to do there to help me shed the pounds and increase my stamina. I normally start with joggin on the treadmill or going at it on an elliptical or a bike, but after that, I don't know what to do, so I just weight train, focusing mainly on my upper body strength. Any tips would be helpful, I'm leaving for the gym in about an hour xD
