2009 Primal Health Challenge
« on: July 16, 2009, 10:14:43 AM »
2009 Primal Health Challenge at marksdailyapple.com [I track his blog/ site in "Going Natural"]

Mark Sisson has a contest starting in August. I figure someone from HIpk might as well win.

"Rather than an all-or-nothing 30-days-at-100% challenge, this year the focus is on the transition, the daily choices and changes people make to go from unhealthy average Joe to healthy Primal Grok, or from healthy Grok to toned, alpha Grok. And whether or not you fully participate in the challenge, you still have a chance to win the prizes…

"In addition to the regular blog post, we’ll have a contest post each weekday featuring a Primal-related product with details on how to win. Some of the prizes will simply require leaving a comment in the comment board, though a few of the better prizes will require a little leg and brain work (creating a Primal recipe or workout video, for instance). I’ve locked down several choice goodies like kettlebells, clubbells, and fresh caught Alaskan salmon, but I still have some spots open for additional prizes.

The Primal Blueprint Health Challenge officially begins this coming Monday, August 3.

If you are looking to lose weight, build muscle, increase energy, reduce stress or just generally get back on track this is the perfect opportunity for you to achieve any of your health and fitness goals.

Oh, and did I mention there will be prizes? To the tune of, say, over $6,000 in free stuff over the course of the month? That’s right, accompanying the Primal Blueprint Health Challenge will be 30 Days of Giveaways that will give you the chance to win some super cool Primal gear.

Visit Mark’s Daily Apple this coming Monday for all the details and be ready to get Primal. And tell all your friends, too! I have some special things lined up for newcomers.

I don't know.

There are daily small prizes, and a bigger challenge. Some of it will have to be video. Some is finding good recipes...
Check his site for more info, or read the HIpk Going Natural Mark Sisson thread to get an idea of the Primal Blueprint.

Ok. The CHALLENGE is on... http://www.marksdailyapple.com/

This is your first task. It’s time for you to define and commit to your own 30-day challenge.

I’ve created a special forum for The Primal Blueprint Health Challenge. In it you can:

   1. State your personal 30-day challenge
   2. Start a “Primal Challenge Journal” to track your progress

Use the Primal Blueprint Health Challenge forum to receive positive feedback, advice and help along the way from myself and the Mark’s Daily Apple community.

--- --- ---
Today's mini challenge is post a comment at his site - win steak [unless you live Hawaii or Alaska :'( ] 3 people will be chosen at random.

Here's the BIG CHALLENGE

Create and upload a Primal workout video to YouTube. Whether you talk and offer instruction, or simply film yourself playing in the park or working out in the gym is up to you. I’ll leave it wide open. The only requirement is that the video relates in some way to the Primal Blueprint Fitness philosophy. The more Primal the better.

Upload your video to YouTube and then email me the link. I’ll publish select videos on Mark’s Daily Apple at the end of the month. [Suggested length 1-5 minutes]

To recap, the winner will receive:

    * 1 Elite Sandbag (this one or this one) from Sandbag Fitness Systems
    * 1 pair of Vibram Fivefingers (your choice)
    * 12 canisters of Damage Control Master Formula (1 each month for a year)
    * 1 bottle of Vital Omegas
    * 1 canister of Responsibly Slim
    * 1 “Grok On!” T-Shirt (your choice of size and color)
    * 1 copy of The Primal Blueprint

That’s a major grab bag of Primal goodness, but it’ll take more than a comment to win this time. For this contest you’ll have to work up a sweat…

His "Primal Workout" is based on:
#3: Move frequently at a slow pace
#4 Lift heavy things
#5 Run really fast once in a while

But I would also include:
#7 Play
#8 Get plenty of sunlight
#9 Avoid stupid mistakes

IT'S DUE BY THE 27TH - so I would get it in a little earlier.
I'd like some FiveFinger KSOs.

Another way to win some KSOs:

To recap, the winner will receive:

    * 1 Excalibur Food Dehydrator
    * 1 pair of Vibram Fivefingers (your choice)
    * 12 canisters of Damage Control Master Formula (1 each month for a year)
    * 1 bottle of Vital Omegas
    * 1 canister of Responsibly Slim
    * 1 “Grok On!” T-Shirt (your choice of size and color)
    * 1 copy of The Primal Blueprint

The Contest:

Finished yesterday’s workout video already? Now get to the kitchen…

Create and upload a Primal recipe video to YouTube. Whether you film your meat carving or salad prepping skills the recipe and how you present it is up to you. I’ll leave it wide open. The only requirement is that your video relates in some way to the Primal Blueprint eating plan. Show the world (how to prepare) your best Primal dish and you could be the winner of the complete Primal package listed above.

Next challenge: take a pic of your family with your week's groceries. Email it to Mark by Aug 25, and win 5# fresh Alaska Salmon. Unless you live in Hawaii. I'm bummed about these "unless you live in Hawaii" contests. I don't want supplements.
