Well, this is goodbye for some time.
« on: June 08, 2009, 08:28:57 AM »
So recently I've been thinking about my lifestyle and such and what problems I have and I have targeted my main one, I'm addicted to the computer. I'm no where near unhealthy, but I think I will be if I stay on the computer all summer, so for the rest of summer break I am unplugging the computer and giving the cord to my mom to hide, so this is goodbye for the summer.

I remember seeing a thread about someone coming back from a long time of what you're saying, and I think it's a great decision.

You're doing the right thing, I did the exact same thing and it's amazingly benificial.

Good luck with everything.

I tried this, I failed, good luck, for the week I had it going, it was pretty great.

Good for you.
I don't want to be a product of my environment.  I want my environment to be a product of me.

This sounds like a good idea! Maybe I will do this and on rainy days I'll hop on to see what's up. Or condition. By the end of this summer I'm going to be healthier and more fit than ever!

Awesome work bud! I've never done it to quite that extent, but I definitely know how good it feels to have no computer access for an entire week. It's like freedom  ;D

I'm gonna do this as well :) I'm not addicted, but I've realised I'm spending more time on the PC lately, so it's goodbye for me for a couple of months (Yes, I know I'm new to the forums, but that shouldn't stop me doing what I feel I need to do should it? :P)

Basically, no Internet, no TV and no gaming. I'm gonna live a screen free life for a couple of months, to see what it feels like. If I like it, I might keep it that way, so its a temporary goodbye from me, don't know when I'll be back. Also, to anyone reading this, try it. You'll realise just how much free time you haveto train when you succeed in doing it ;)

EDIT--For most of the summer I am required to use the internet/my computer, so I can't really give it up. I'm still gonna give up gaming and TV for a bit though :)

I did that for quite a while. It really helped me become my own traceur, and to not be influenced by all the, often times incorrect, info on the forums across the web. Have fun man!
This post was based off of my personal gatherings. Enjoy:)
