Randomly got over fear of heights without doing anything
« on: June 02, 2009, 03:10:48 PM »
I somehow randomly got over my fear of heights, I climbed a pretty good height up a tree and looked down and was like "Oh, that's cool."

Then I was like "WTF, why am I not freaked out by the height? Oh, cool, no more fear of heights I guess."
I had a camera in my pocket so I snapped a couple pics

Ten pushups, twenty crunches, twenty squats.

lol PK/FR is wierd like that... I was climbing in the beams in the ceiling of the Theater one day and just said, hmm, neat...

before that very hour, I was climbing to the top of a 6 foot pole, got there and looking down I said "ick... forget that..."

IDK what came over me, but anywho, gratz on overcoming... or well... passing, the fear of heights!

Yeah I had a similar occasion like this only it was getting over a fear of flipping over my back.  One day at the gym, suddenly, I was ready to try a million different backflip variations. I was so excited!
Anyways, congrats!! :)

You'll find that a lot of fears just go away if you take a little time off.

i like to think of getting of fear more like learning to trust yourself.

my mind is constantly moving, one day my body will be strong enough to keep up.

I think it might have to do with the fact that you can land and roll.  :)

That is most likely one reason I wasn't shit scared.
I'm a lot stronger than I used to be, when I was freaked out completely by heights I couldn't do 3 pullups.

Never was afraid of heights, but rather jumping...  guess what parkour did for me?
I decided not to put something deep here.  I'm in this for the physical aspect, the mental and spiritual are my own.

I used to have a pretty irrational fear of needles. Then one day I was getting my wisdom teeth pulled and they had used nitrous to sedate me before putting in a morphine IV drip, and I have not been afraid of needles since.

Yeah, I've gotten rid of my fear of heights as well. All the climbing and monkeying around does that. I can be 8 or 9 feet above the ground on a thin railing and be like "meh..."
