What did you do for training this weekend?
« on: June 25, 2006, 06:55:43 PM »
I didn't do as much as I would have liked, a couple of hours of yoga, and a few minutes on the rings, plus some pull-ups and push-ups. Got a ton of stuff done around the house. No parkour specific skills training, which I'm dissapointed about.

Just wondering what other people did training wise?

i had a supa-hard kung fu class, and then a pretty sweet jam.  There were only a few of us there, and it wasn't that intensive, but i did alot of climbing and turn vaults which really worked my upper body.

good weekend.

What kind of kung fu?

And I had a nice training session with Bry, Rob, and Dylan, and EL's brother in Old Town.  After it was just Bry and I, voltbang, that photographer that's been here recently, showed up.  Was cool.

animus light,

as far as northern/southern, i'm not too sure.  it's called shaolin chuan'fa all spelled out.  it focuses on snake, leopard, crane, tiger, and dragon styles.  (with some other ones like monkey thrown in a little bit)

I did some real serious solo nature-pk training, for the first time.
Gotta say, it was really some of the best training I've had in a while.  Definately something I'm gonna do alot more often.
Then the crew met back up and we did some rain-pk training

good day

I did lots and lots of pull-ups (working towards a muscle up). I also worked on kong's over picnic tables (the long way)
life is too short, so love the one you got

Drilled kongs thursday, then skinny dipping around 12(its like exercise),  and some cardio/endurance training in that night/morning.

friday not much, a few kongs and pushups.

Saturday went to a jam in alexandia w/ rob, dylan, animus, and el's brother. later, voltbang showed up, and we got some good pictures in for him. spent most of my time drilling kongs, and practicing moving after a "movement". plenty of cardio. plus the 16 block walk from metro to waterfront, then 16 blocks back again. some barefoot pk. And some bigger drops that I maybe shouldnt have taken.

sat night and sunday were spent mostly in the car,we went to pennsylvania for one night to meet an old friend. we had lots of fun, but there wasnt any training involved.a little barefoot running, and alot of walking.

Started making a parkour video till we got kicked out :( All we needed was one more shot and we would've been done but they told us to leave.

I put about a foot onto my wall-run. That makes is about a foot and half above my head for a fluid run, about ten feet if I have to top-out.
My promise for the month: three sets of handstand pushups (upto 5 reps now...)

I keep having these dreams that I'm falling.

last night, after i posted, i felt a burning desire to get out and move....so i did.

I ran up to a gully with a stream in it that is open to the public and has trails going up and down either side.  I was looking forward to some mad natural-stylee parkour, however, it was pitch black in there.  So, i sort of mosey'd along down the trail with an emphasis on being as silent as i could be, both to train it, and so i could hear any boogeymen that were creeping up on me.  (that was some scary shee)  After that, went to a local elementary for some night-time playground pk, and headed home.  good times

Had a very nice jam in detriot on saturday, the rest of the weekend I was too sore to do much. But it was a great jam, there was only...8 people I think.. but despite my wrist injury I found ways to accomplish training with little to no use of my right arm.

All in all, I feel much better about myself.
Tricks aren't parkour but I'm not always faithful.
