Lets see Dips effectively hit: triceps, chest, and delts.  Benching hits hmmmmm triceps, chest, and delts.  HOLY SHIT THEY AREN'T THAT DIFFERENT AFTER ALL.

Depending on how you do each of them you may target the different groups differently, and most likely hit the chest and triceps more if you are benching.

Muscle groups are the same but firing patterns are vastly different due to the degree of shoulder flexion (that is, where the hands are in relation to the body)

You should be working a horizonal push (planche, bench press), upward-vertical push (OH Press, HSPU) and downward-vertical push (dips) because of the difference in firing patterns.  The fact that they use the same muscles means there will be some translation but you only really get strong in what you perform...and all three ROMs are important.

Some people choose to work an inverted push (Manna) as well...but thats not really very practical compared to the other movements.
