I was reading around on the crossfit forum and then I came to this topic on the Beck's burpee. A Beck's burpee is a burpee where you have a broad jump instead of a vertical jump. Would it be a good idea to have Beck's burpees instead of the regular burpees in the 100 burpee workout we sometimes have, and then not only mentioning the time it took but also the distance covered? Because I find myself not jumping sufficiently high after seventy or eighty burpees  :-[.
Or a workout could be 'cover 400 meters with Beck's burpees, and post the time and amount of burpees taken to complete the workout' or something like that  ;D

Definitely a good idea. Another would be to set a distance, perform Beck's burpees for said distance, then perform as many pushups as it took burpees...this would motivate you to jump farther to thus cut down on the total reps required in pushups ;)

Then again, imagine how you would look doing Beck burpees down the street. Ahh, what an image.

Great idea, I really like these, and liked the workout they inspired.  I also like the other ideas (i.e. do x x bburpees, how far did you go, etc) and would love to see them in another WOD.  I think I'll also try Beck's Burpees Backwards, and other directions, to really work on control springing.
