head on collison with a bike messanger?
« on: November 18, 2008, 10:38:09 AM »
okay, so im on my way to work in manhattan, its cold, im tired. my left headphone doesnt work and i'm all pissed off.

as i'm flying down the street i see this bike messenger flying out from behind a van, giant ass chain around his neck, tattoos, sunglasses the whole nine yards.... at this point were both heading directly at each other, so much so that there's no time for either of us to make a decision of which way to turn, (being as there are cars flying everywhere in every direction, i'm not to keen on just suddenly changing my trajectory into the street)  and before i know it BAM. we collide HEAD ON. and all the momentum is completely canceled out,

i do about 20-25 on my longboard with at full sprint(i've been clocked), and god knows how fast that bike messenger was going,

so it was probably like hitting a fleshy wall at 40

somehow i rode away fine, the messenger looked a little dazed, but he was okay too, but then i get back to my office and my foot was hurting, i take off my shoe and theres blood all over my sock and its on my BACK foot, not even my front one, i have absolutely NO idea how that happened, but hey, one hell of an experience crashing into a random person.

thought i would share :)

Yeah, i've had those kinds of experinces where all of a sudden, your foot hurts and bloods everywhere. It's usually pretty weird to. Like I went to a concert. Moshing of coarse. Anyways, I'm perfectly fine in those things desite being pretty small (5'9" and pretty lean). But I'm fine, but I get home sometime that night, take off my shoes. and I've got a toe nail OFF of my middle toe. You'd think you'd feel that, eh?

Ugh Mosh... I got caught in a Mosh pit where a guy had razor blades sewn into his arms. It was nasty. He tried to get in, and a guy got cut up pretty badly, but another guy decked the razor guy in the face, knocking him on the ground. The razor guy was taken out in handcuffs. I walked out badly bruised :D

I had a close call with a biker a while ago.  I was konging a ramp and didn't look before I konged.  As soon as my feet plant on the ground a biker comes by so close I could feel them brushing against my skin.  The ramp was concrete and if I had been three inches more forwards, we would have had quite a nasty collision.

I had a head-on encounter with a doorframe recently. It didn't end well for either of us.  ;D

.........Seriously.

Yep
In addition to Spill Canvas, Paramore, and a few other crappy bands.

The guys from Flobots all went to my school, And Jonny5 (White Rapper/ Jamie Laurie) was a teacher for a while. He was a geography teacher and the head of the Tutoring department my freshman and sophomore year. We played hackey sack outside with him all the time. It was weird when his band got big.
