New to Parkour, Arkansas
« on: November 14, 2008, 11:07:29 AM »
To all,

I just wanted to introduce myself to the forums and the (albeit small, apparently) community of traceurs in Arkansas. I'm in Little Rock and, though not new to the concept of parkour, have never actively trained. I'm looking at getting back into some running and this seemed to be a good way to get to know some of you in the Central Arkansas area.

So, hello, and I look forward to talkin' and meetin' some of y'all in the near future.

Welcome to the Arkansas section, and Welcome to Parkour

Its seemingly kind of hard to get anything going around here, I would recommend starting small and training: running, climbing, vaulting, climbing, Jumping, and some more climbing

I wouldn't recommend large drop at all, just small ones and really get into the habit of rolling properly.

Im in Northwest Arkansas, but still figured I'd say high because no one else has.

As he stated, welcome to Arkansas. I also have just recently gotten active in Parkour even though I've known about it for a while. I have just moved to Jacksonville but i am frequently running in and out of town, (north little rock/ central). Im trying to get a team started and or get on a team myself, cause i think we all need to come together, But anyway, welcome and dont try anything you know you cant do, im learning new flips myself and still need practice with roles.

welcome

Hi my name if Forest and I run a site called PKLR.ORG witch is no use right now because I don't send out the newsletter when I'm not in the country.(I am curantly in Toronto ON(Doing PK))

But what you can do is contact me via FaceBook and I can have you add my friend Ira whom leads a Parkour meet at the river market in down town ever Saturday(I would just tell you to add him on face book but he frequently changes his name) My face book name is Kage Nin Bu

The meets are not very advanced when I'm not in town but its still good to be active:)

Hope to see you their this summer

Hey guys my name is Kaleb, I currently reside in NW Arkansas, near Bentonville, Centerton, etc. I just started but I've found I kind of have a knack for Parkour, I'd love to get together with some people to practice and get better with. You can email me at kaywar1@yahoo.com.

Man, there's more from Arkansas than I expected, but still none less than an hour away. I'm from Hot Springs, currently attending college at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. I've been climbing and the like in downtown Hot Springs for a few months now and really wanting to get started training with this parkour stuff. If anyone is around the Hot Springs or Arkadelphia area, hit me up. My email is omfgitsdustin[at]gmail[dot]com. Hope to meet some of you guys :)

Hi guys. I'm from Denmark. You may think what the f**k is he doing here, but it's because I'm going to Arkansas for a year to attend highschool. I'm going to live in Cabot. I just want to know how old you are, and if, when I get settled, we could go out and train together? I've been reading about parkour for a month now and started to run also. I've been wroking out, but hopefully I can do it more when I get there. I haven't tried to pratice parkour yet, but I hope to start when I get to the states. I'm 16 btw.

I will be back in Arkansas from college after the world freerun championships in London which I'm attending. Emperor will be hosting a jam in Fayetteville. All are welcome. Also, to all people on this forum from here that text and message me about PK you will be better texting Emperor' Co-Captain Brad as he will be living in Fayetteville whereas I am now a resident of Louisiana.
Aren't we all running?

Hey everyone, i live in Cabot and i'm just now starting parkour.  i have allmost all the basic moves down, and i was just going to try to talk with some people who are nearby who could jam, or teach, or just train.  a quick word of advice that i have found, highschool campuses are good for training as are other schools, such as college, and elementary! so have fun guys and i will post my e-mail as soon as i make one thats not flooded with college stuff! so good luck and be safe
