What exactly does this abbreviation stand for.  I have seen it used around in the general discussion section and was just a little curious.

It's actually Quadrupedal Movement.

We humans are bipedals because we walk on two legs. So quadripedal movement is moving on four legs. Since we don't actually have four legs unlike animals we just use our four limbs.

Latin numbering prefix...uni-, bi-, tri-, quad- and word pedal (defined as - of or relating to the foot)
