training sessions -- suggest a place for next saturday!
« on: March 24, 2006, 05:13:01 PM »
Tomorrow (3/25/06) i'll be doing a training session at 8am - 10am behind my highschool (a few good rails for practicing vaults, and a wall for tough wall runs) i'll be starting off by work out of the day, then i'll be working on quicker wall runs, climb ups, and reverse vaults. Anyone is invited to come, however I do not believe anyone will... But if you choose to come and would like to start it earlier please post :D the address is: 22525 Belmont Ridge Ashburn, VA  20148.

Anyway, now for the main reason why i wrote this.

I was thinking of doing weekly training sessions early saturday morning somewhere within loudon county or fairfax county. This will be a little less lax than a regular jam where we'll do the workout of the day and practice on a certian movement until we pass out form exhaustion haha. So if anyone is interested in this post up!! i'd love to hear some input!!!!

Hey Eric, I'll meet you there around 9am, but I can only really stay for an hour. I've never been to your school, so it'll be neat. Gotta warn you, I'm pretty out of practice though.

Eric, that's a great idea. Keep an eye out for something similar coming up this summer, with some dedicated training sessions capped off by a killer, Parkour-specific workout for all of the dedicated Traceurs in the area! Anybody who hasn't done so, it might be helpful to sign up for the VA-Parkour google-group, which will allow me to contact everybody through mass-email when we have announcements and such. You can do that here:

yep i signed up for that group just now! and as for the DC question...well you could take the metro all the way down to the last stop on the Orange line and take a bus to george mason univ. and we could hold a training session there! but it might take between 30 to 45 minutes. I'm hoping for a bigger turnout next saturday!! hopefully we can find out the workout of the day before it starts so we can actually do it!

so it seems to be leaning towards gmu for next time! check how far the trip is from DC and if you can make it then we'll definatly have it at gmu! and whoever else is interested POST UP!!

Oh man, I've been wanting to check out George Mason for awhile, but I've never been able to make it... and next Saturday, I'll be in Richmond. I'll go with you some other time.

And I will post those photos - I just have to resize them and stuff (but I have a lot of homework, so it might not be today).

It's about twenty minutes from DC to Fairfax Co.  Not very far at all.

You would not be close at all ;)  The Foggy Bottom stations is for GWU - George Washington U . . . not George Mason U.  You'd want to keep riding the Orange Line all the way to the end and the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU station.  Even then, I'm not sure how you get to campus from the station exactly.

ERI!!! I should be at this jam! And Coastal you better show up if I can make it! LoL But Stereo, yeah Vienna/Fairfax station is where you want to get off at. And then Catch the bus thingy that goes around fairfax... lol <.<  >.>  but it's pretty much just straight down route 123 heading south.

WOOT! okay so... warm up with a quick jog from the clock "tower" to the parking deck and back. then stretch, do some dips, then work on pricisions!!! not too many long flat rails to work on them with...so we can work on walls! haha alright so WOOT GMU IN THE FINAL FOUR!!! and they're going ALL THE WAY *cough* bandwagon *cough*

aight see yall there (assuming i can get my parents to let me outa the house...)

peace!
