Washington DC and NOVA Area Women’s Parkour Meetups
Next Meet Up
Saturday, December 7, 2013
10:00am – 12:00pm
Gateway Park Rosslyn, VA (Meet at the round fountain)
All girls, all ages, all levels. If you’re looking to improve your parkour skills or want a fun way to get moving, you should join us! Beginners welcome!
What if I’ve never trained parkour before?
Don’t worry – all physical abilities are welcome. We’re going to start with the basics and break down the more advanced moves so you can work up to them. At most meetups we will have a certified parkour instructor present. Come join us for a great introduction to parkour – we hope you love it as much as we do! Let’s get started!
What should I expect?
We will start with a warm up (light exercise, joint mobility) and then move on to some of the basics broken down into easy steps for everyone. From there, we’ll start with some intermediate movement, as participants feel comfortable, broken down into progressions. We’re there to have fun and learn so we’ll be taking it slow or progressing quickly depending on how you’re feeling! Although we have lots of fun things planned, we’re flexible and you can always sit down if you need some water or a second to catch your breath!
Are guys welcome?
No, silly! It’s a WOMEN’S meetup.
How much does it cost?
Our goal is to expand the parkour community and have fun together, so these events are completely free.
What should I do before?

- Definitely a sense of adventure
How do I get there?

What should I wear?
To do parkour, you want to wear comfortable clothes that will let you move around easily. We recommend a t-shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty and shorts or athletic pants. Also make sure to wear your sneakers; running / cross training sneakers work well.
You should also check out this guide put together by APK on what to wear / bring to a jam.
It was so much fun, I want to know more…
