West Norfolk Parkour Park Dilemma

Parkour has gained quite a following in Norfolk England over the last three years. So much so that the West Norfolk council is attempting to build a Parkour Park in an unused area called "The Walk."

Unfortunately not everyone wants the park at the walk.  Several members of the council believe that the Park should be installed inside Lynsport, a sporting facility in the Norfolk area. The reasoning being that the park would be an athletic facility and should be around other athletic facilities.

The proponents of the Walk location say that it should be closer to the train station. A ward member also said  “I am very keen on encouraging people to get exercise without feeling that they have to pay to go to a sophisticated facility. He also noted that they "have 70 acres at LynnSport with overgrown paths around the perimeter which are not properly managed. It just seems a shame that we can’t make them more usable.”

This seems like a valid point seeing as how £44,000 of the funds raised for the £94,000 ($153,000) Parkour facility came from the Waste Recycling Environmental organisation, known as WREN.

No location has been picked for the Park yet so the debate will continue.
